Conyers advises Alpha Bank on a US$500+ million securitization of shipping loans

November 2014 Matthew Stocker

Conyers Dill & Pearman advised Alpha Bank, a leader in the Greek market, on an innovative securitisation raising in excess of US$500m. This was the first securitization transaction from a Greek bank placed with investors since 2008 and simultaneously one of the very few shipping transactions globally. The transaction, arranged and financed by Citibank, financed a portfolio of shipping loans.

Veronica Strande and Martin Lane of Conyers’ London office advised on the Bermuda and BVI law aspects of the transaction and Matthew Stocker of Conyers’ Cayman Islands office advised on the Cayman Islands law aspects of the transaction. Other firms advising on the transaction include Norton Rose Fulbright.

"Few firms can come close to Conyers on one critical metric, and this is the breadth of the client base."
