Conyers Employee Donates to Cayman Islands Humane Society

August 2009

Conyers Dill & Pearman’s “Employee of the Quarter”, Sheila Lea, has made a donation of $2,500 to the Cayman Islands Humane Society as part of the Conyers Community Programme.

The Cayman Islands law firm rewarded Ms Lea with $2,500 for donation to the charity of her choice. As an avid dog walker and animal lover, the Humane Society was a natural option for the Society’s volunteers.

In a joint statement, Sugar Evans and Pamela Hart, of the Humane Society, said: “Sheila is an energetic and committed volunteer at the Humane Society, and we are grateful for her additional support of our mission through this very welcome donation.”

The company said Ms Lea was selected as “Employee of the Quarter” based on her exemplary work ethic and high performance, which has seen her take on extra projects willingly and voluntarily carry an increased workload. In addition to her regular responsibilities, she also acts as a Conyers Community Care Officer with specific interest in animal welfare in the community.

Richard Finlay, Managing Partner at Conyers’ Cayman Islands office, said the firm is pleased with the ongoing success of the Conyers Community Programme and has been delighted by staff response to the initiative.

Conyers is actively involved in a number of local charities and educational programmes.

Conyers Dill & Pearman is a multi-jurisdictional law firm that advises on the laws of Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands, Bermuda and Mauritius. The firm specialises in company and commercial law, commercial litigation and private client matters.
