Conyers Promotes Ten Lawyers across Firm
Conyers is pleased to announce the promotion of ten lawyers across the firm’s global offices. In Bermuda, Anna Bruce-Smith, Jacqueline King, Edward Rance and Rhys Williams have been appointed Directors, and Nicola Bruce has been promoted to Counsel. In the British Virgin Islands, Audrey Robertson has been appointed Partner, and Rachael Pape and Matthew Brown have been promoted to Counsel. In Hong Kong, Angie Chu has been appointed Partner, and in Singapore Stacie Seetho has been promoted to Counsel.

Bermuda
Anna Bruce-Smith – Director
Anna’s practice covers all areas of private client and trust law, with particular focus on international and local trusts and estate planning arrangements. Her expertise includes advising on the establishment of international trust structures and private trust company structures, trust restructuring matters, providing advice to trustees about their duties and obligations, and advising on trust law interpretation.
Jacqueline King – Director
Jacqueline’s practice includes all aspects of corporate law, with a particular focus on insurance law and regulation. She specializes in the licensing and ongoing regulation of insurance companies and regularly advises on mergers and acquisitions, IPOs and direct listings, equity and debt financing and private placements.
Edward Rance – Director
Edward’s practice consists of a broad range of corporate and finance matters, including in and out of court insolvencies and restructurings. He has particular expertise in relation to the Bermuda banking sector. Edward also advises ultra-high net worth individuals on offshore holding structures.
Rhys Williams – Director
Rhys’s practice covers all areas of commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on domestic and cross-border insolvency and restructuring. He also has significant experience advising on directors’ duties, shareholder disputes, minority prejudice claims, contentious and non-contentious trusts, and professional negligence claims.
Nicola Bruce – Counsel
Nicola handles a wide range of litigious and non-litigious matters for international clients including private individuals, trustees, companies, charities and pension schemes. She advises on trust law, international regulation, charity law and commercial issues.
BVI
Audrey Robertson – Partner*
Audrey’s practice covers general corporate and commercial matters with particular focus on public offerings and joint ventures. She has particular expertise in financings involving aircraft, including aircraft acquisitions and dispositions, sale and leasebacks and pre-delivery payment and warehouse facilities. Audrey advises leading financial institutions, leasing companies, development agencies and companies.
Rachael Pape – Counsel*
Rachael has a broad corporate and finance practice with particular expertise in corporate finance and reorganisations, capital markets, derivatives and securitisations, mergers and acquisitions and investment funds, along with providing cross-border regulatory guidance. She advises a range of clients including corporations and leading international banks and financial institutions.
Matthew Brown – Counsel*
Matthew’s practice covers all contentious aspects of commercial, trusts and insolvency law. He has been involved in some of BVI’s leading cases in recent years, and has appeared in a number of cases in the BVI Commercial Court and the Court of Appeal.

Angie Chu – Partner
Angie’s practice covers all aspects of corporate law with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions. She has extensive experience in takeover and privatisation and has been involved in a number of significant M&A transactions involving Bermuda and Cayman Islands companies listed on the Hong Kong, Singapore and US stock exchanges.
Singapore
Stacie Seetho – Counsel
Stacie’s practice includes corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and capital markets work, including initial public offerings in Singapore, involving Bermuda, BVI and Cayman Islands companies.
