Conyers sponsors after-school programme

August 2010

Conyers Dill & Pearman has partnered with the Cayman Islands Youth Development Consortium to sponsor a child in the after-school programme.

The law firm, which is involved in a number of local charities, educational programmes and other worthwhile causes through the Conyers Community Programme, will cover the fee for one child for the duration of this year’s programme.

The programme is aimed at Year 6 students in preparation for their transition to secondary school. It is designed to develop the students’ self-esteem and offer academic enrichment.

“The CIYDC programme provides opportunities for our children in the Cayman Islands to participate in a programme, which not only encourages growth and development but is also enjoyable, and we are proud to be of assistance,” said Katherine McLaughlin, children and education liaison officer of Conyers’ Cayman Islands office.

On behalf of the CIYDC, Sylvia Wilks said: “We are grateful for this contribution and to firms like Conyers Dill & Pearman who value the importance of youth mentorship programmes in the Cayman Islands.”
