Jacqueline King is a Director in the Bermuda Corporate practice. She joined Conyers in 2012 and her practice includes all aspects of corporate law, with a particular focus on insurance law and regulation.
Jacqueline has significant experience with advising Bermuda (re)insurance companies and Bermuda based insurance groups, having focused almost entirely on (re)insurance transactional and regulatory matters for the last ten years. She is a leading practitioner in the field of Bermuda insurance law, with a strong following of loyal clients. Her practice covers both transactional and regulatory matters, with notable experience counselling on the formation and licensing of new insurance entities as well as with their ongoing regulation.
Jacqueline’s in depth understanding of the Bermuda regulatory framework and general industry practice positions her well to act as a trusted advisor in a highly regulated and ever-evolving sector.
Jacqueline currently serves as the chairperson of BILTIR’s regulatory/legal committee and is recognised as an Up and Coming Partner by Chambers and Partners and as a Next Generation Partner by Legal 500 Caribbean (insurance/reinsurance).

- Advised Enstar Group Limited (“Enstar”) a Bermuda headquartered insurance group, in connection with its entry into a definitive merger agreement under which Sixth Street and certain institutional investors will acquire and take private Enstar.
- Advised FGH Parent, L.P. and its subsidiaries (together “Fortitude Re”), a Bermuda regulated insurance group, on its inaugural US$750 million senior note offering.
- Advised Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company (“Meiji Yasuda”) on its entry into a strategic partnership and agreement to acquire 100% of the outstanding shares of Legal & General America, Inc. (“LGA”) and its subsidiaries which includes Legal & General America Reinsurance Ltd., a Bermuda incorporated and licensed Class E insurer.
- Advised Resolution Life Group Holdings, Ltd. and its subsidiaries (together “Resolution Life”), a Bermuda regulated insurance group, on the acquisition of 100% of its shares by Nippon Life at a valuation of US$10.6 billion.
- Advised MetLife, Inc. (“MetLife”) on the structuring, formation and launch of Chariot Reinsurance, Ltd. (“Chariot Re”) and its affiliated holding entities.
- Advised Marsh on its establishment of Edgware Re. Ltd., a Bermuda domiciled and registered group captive insurance company. Edgware Re. Ltd. was formed to provide its participants and their affiliates with cyber (re)insurance coverage and enhanced control and stability for their cyber-insurance programs.
- Advised Macquarie on the formation and licensing of its long-term reinsurer InEvo Re Ltd. as a Class E insurer in Bermuda. InEvo Re was formed to provide innovative and evolutionary risk and capital solutions to life insurers around the world.
- Advised AmRisc Group and Stone Point Capital LLC on the formation and licensing of a special purpose reinsurance sidecar named Trouvaille Re Ltd. (“Trouvaille”). Trouvaille has been formed to provide reinsurance capacity for commercial excess & surplus property risks which has been produced by AmRisc.
- Advised on the establishment of incorporated segregated accounts company Monarch Point Re (ISAC) Ltd., and the subsequent licensing of it and related incorporated segregated accounts as Bermuda Collateralized Insurers.
