- Acting for the Bermuda Monetary Authority in the presentation of a winding up petition against a captive insurer for the Venezuelan oil giant Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. valued at US$3 billion; a significant case in that Venezuela and PDVSA are subject to US sanctions and the captive insurer (PDV Insurance Company Ltd) provided insurance for PDVSA and other state-owned entities.
- Advising a member in relation to a quasi-partnership dispute involving a captive insurance company incorporated in the Cayman Islands to provide insurance solutions for not-for-profit healthcare systems (each operating several hospitals) in the state of Virginia, USA.
