Conyers has advised Fortescue on its public acquisition of Alta Copper Corp.

Fortescue, a major global metals and green energy company, has completed its acquisition of Alta Copper Corp., a Canada-based mineral exploration company focused on large-scale projects in Peru. The transaction was implemented by way of a statutory plan of arrangement under the laws of British Columbia through Fortescue’s wholly owned subsidiary, Nascent Exploration Pty Ltd, and values Alta Copper at approximately CA$139 million.

Conyers acted as British Virgin Islands legal counsel to Fortescue, advising on the BVI law aspects of the transaction. The firm worked alongside Borden Ladner Gervais LLP as legal counsel to Fortescue and Nascent.
