There is no such thing as a typical candidate. We are open-minded and are interested in people who share that quality. Naturally, we are looking for individuals who have strong academic qualifications – ideally 2:1 at degree level. Beyond this, we want to see evidence of teamwork, motivation and drive, communication skills, planning and organization, critical thinking, commercial awareness and commitment, both to a career in law and a career with us.
We offer suitably qualified Bermudian and Caymanian candidates pupillage training opportunities that ensure professional experience in a range of areas. Our pupils work in a stimulating and supportive environment with senior lawyers, many of whom are recognised leaders in their practice areas.

Our summer law programme is our most important source for recruitment. We hire students with strong academic records and a focused dedication to performing exceptional work. The programme is designed to give Bermudian and Caymanian law students insight into what it’s like to be a Conyers lawyer. From day one, summer law students will be paired with a lawyer who will act as a mentor. We want students to be involved in actual client projects such as: legal research, due diligence and preparation of legal documents, as well as participate in a variety of learning workshops.
As part of our university summer work placement, you will experience work and life at Conyers, and gain valuable insight into our business and culture. We have internship opportunities in various departments within the Firm. Whichever business area you are in, you are working alongside experienced professionals on current and interesting client projects. Our internships run from the end of May through to the end of August.
As a summer student, you will receive real work assignments for real clients that are suitable for your skill level. Generally, you will have multiple assignments at once, which have real deadlines and will require effective time management. We expect that you will contribute to the matters on which you are working and take ownership of your assignments.
Our managers will make every effort to include you in conference calls and other out-of-office activities for their matters when appropriate. As a summer student you will gain valuable insight into what we do and what it means to work at Conyers.
Each summer student is paired with a mentor who provides guidance, advice and training throughout the summer. This mentoring relationship will help you develop the personal and professional skills needed to fulfill your potential.
