What’s new about the Bribery Act, 2016?

The Bribery Act, which was introduced in September 2017, overhauled Bermuda’s anti-corruption laws. It both updates laws which we have always had, but it also introduces new offences. In particular it extends bribery offences into the private sector and introduces an offence of strict liability for corporates, which is the offence of failing to prevent bribery in the first place.
