Conyers is pleased to announce the return of David Cooke to the firm’s Bermuda Corporate practice in the role of Consultant. Following his retirement from full-time practice in 2020, David has chosen to return in this new capacity, contributing his depth of knowledge and insight to the firm.

David originally joined Conyers in 1994 and served as a Director and Head of the Bermuda Corporate practice. Over the course of more than three decades, he has advised clients across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, with particular expertise in securities, asset finance, mergers and acquisitions, and restructuring and insolvency. His practice has encompassed advising Bermuda-incorporated public companies as well as both borrowers and lenders in a wide range of financings and restructurings.

In his consulting role, David will support Conyers on strategic client matters and continue to provide his expertise on complex corporate transactions and advisory work.

Marcello Ausenda, Director and current Head of the Bermuda Corporate practice, said: “We are delighted to welcome David back in the role of Consultant at Conyers. David has made significant contributions not only to the firm, but to development of Bermuda’s corporate legal framework over many years. We are pleased to welcome David back to our highly experienced Bermuda corporate law team, where his knowledge and insight will further strengthen our practice and support his continued contribution to the firm and to the jurisdiction.”
