Anne Campbell is an Associate in the Bermuda Private Client & Trust practice. She joined Conyers in 2022 having worked in the Private client department of another Bermuda law firm for five years.

Anne previously practiced in London for nine years where she gained exposure to a wide range of private client work.

Anne’s expertise includes advising local and international individuals and families on succession law and estate and tax planning issues, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, probates, reseal applications and related property law matters.

Anne is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and was recognised in the 2021 edition of The Legal 500 Caribbean (Private Client).

Experience

  • Advising trustees on the varying of two discretionary Bermuda law trusts under the Perpetuities and Accumulations Act 2009 and s.47 of the Trustee Act 1975 with Swiss beneficiaries to remove the requirement for the trusts funds of each of the trusts to vest in possession and to dis-apply the rules against perpetuities so that the trusts become perpetual. Advising the trustees to seek the appointment of new protectors of both trusts. This led to two successful applications to the Bermuda Court to extend the duration of the trusts and approve the new protector appointments.
  • Advising local and international individuals and families on wealth preservation and family succession structures through estate planning.
  • Providing strategic advice in relation to probates and drafting wills, powers of attorney, advance directives and trust documents for local and international individuals and families
  • Applying for reseals of foreign grants of representation for non-resident deceased persons.
