The 18th Conyers Inter-School Debating Tournament was held on Monday 17 March 2025 at Cayman Prep & High School. The event brought together 76 talented young debaters from eight schools across our islands, demonstrating exceptional research, argumentation and rebuttal skills. The tournament was supported by over 180 participants including dedicated students, coaches, judges and other volunteers who contributed to the success of the event.
The final round of the Open debate was judged by the Hon. Mr. Justice Jalil Asif, KC of the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands with Her Excellency the Governor Jane Owen, along with other members of the Cayman Islands Government and dignitaries in attendance. Students from the Cayman International School (CIS), St. Ignatius, Cayman Prep & High School, John Gray High School (JGHS), Clifton Hunter High School, Grace Christian Academy, Hope Academy and CF School participated in the debate.
The tournament continues to grow each year, attracting talented young debaters who represent the bright future of the Cayman Islands. We extend our sincere gratitude to all the participants who continue to make this prestigious tournament possible.
