Beverly Cheung, Hong Kong, Corporate

Beverly advises PRC and multinational clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. Her practice covers all aspects of banking and syndicated financing work, debt capital markets, M&A work, mortgage backed securities transactions, MTN programmes, exchange offers, tender offers, consent solicitations, corporate restructuring and liability management exercises, including pre-IPO equity and debt financings, initial public offerings of shares in the Hong Kong and the U.S. exchanges involving Cayman Islands, Bermuda and British Virgin Islands offshore companies. In particular, she has actively advised property infrastructure companies listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, as well as PRC utility and energy State Owned Enterprises. Beverly also has significant experience in the ship finance practice, and has acted on a wide range of cross-border maritime and offshore structured financing transactions involving various types of assets (including conventional vessels, LNG carriers, oil tankers and cruise ships).

Alexander Doyle, Hong Kong, Corporate

Alexander is Head of Regulatory & Risk Advisory (Asia). He advises on corporate and regulatory matters, providing strategic counsel to regulated entities across a broad range of sectors including private equity, mutual funds, asset management and listed companies. His practice centres on advising clients through the full lifecycle of regulatory compliance, from initial licensing and authorisation through to ongoing compliance requirements and, where necessary, regulatory enforcement proceedings and remediation. Alongside his regulatory advisory capability, Alexander counsels clients on the structuring and establishment of private equity vehicles and investment funds, debt and equity financing arrangements and capital markets transactions. He also advises early-stage and growth companies on regulatory requirements associated with market entry and scaling operations across multiple offshore jurisdictions.

Alecia Johns, Cayman, Litigation & Restructuring

Alecia’s practice covers a wide range of commercial and civil litigation matters including insolvency proceedings, shareholder disputes, and trust and estate litigation. Prior to joining the Cayman office, Alecia practiced in the firm’s BVI office and appeared frequently as lead or junior counsel in a number of civil and commercial matters before the Commercial Court and Court of Appeal. She is highly rated and recommended by leading legal directories including Global Restructuring Review, The Legal 500 Caribbean and Lexology Index.

Wesley O’Brien, Hong Kong, Private Client & Trust (pending regulatory approval)

Wesley advises across the full spectrum of private client and trust matters, encompassing both contentious and non-contentious work. He assists clients to design and implement tailored wealth management structures, including complex trusts, foundation companies and corporate vehicles, and advises on their reorganisation, governance and compliance. Wesley regularly handles estate planning, trust and probate disputes, as well as regulatory matters including obligations arising under economic substance and exchange of information regimes. He also has expertise in the structuring, governance and regulation of Cayman Islands foundation companies established in connection with decentralised autonomous organisations (DAOs) and digital assets.

Stacie Seetho, Singapore, Corporate

Stacie’s practice covers all aspects of corporate and commercial law in relation to the jurisdictions of Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands, including mergers and acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, equity and debt issuances, corporate finance, corporate redomiciliations and general corporate advisory work. Her experience also extends to capital markets transactions, including IPOs and listings of shares of offshore companies on the Main Board and Catalist of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited, on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad and on NASDAQ in the U.S.

Karoline Tauschke, London, Corporate

Karoline advises on all aspects of Bermuda corporate and finance matters including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, joint ventures, corporate finance transactions, relocations and reorganisations. She formerly worked in the London office of Greenberg Traurig, LLP. Karoline has acted for private and public companies across a broad range of industries which include energy, manufacturing, business and financial services, real estate, technology and pharmaceuticals. She has been recognised by IFLR1000 as a notable practitioner since 2019. Karoline joined Conyers’ Bermuda office in 2019 before relocating to London in 2021.

Satjivan Aujla, Bermuda, Private Client & Trust (pending immigration approval)

Satjivan’s practice involves the creation and restructuring of trust structures, international matters spanning high-value private wealth disputes and advising trustees (individuals and corporates) on their duties. Satjivan completed his training contract with a leading London law firm, qualifying into their Private Client department where he gained exposure to a wide range of private wealth, trust and tax work. Satjivan is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Andrew Barnes, Bermuda, Corporate

Andrew’s practice includes all aspects of general corporate and commercial matters, including structured finance and securitisations, public companies, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, shipping and aviation. Andrew has particular expertise advising on capital markets transactions, corporate restructurings and infrastructure matters.

Andrew has a strong Bermuda regulatory practice, with a particular focus on privacy and data protection under Bermuda’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), as well as banking, telecommunications, sanctions and AML/ATF compliance. He is recognised as a trusted regulatory lawyer in Bermuda, supporting clients across the full spectrum of regulatory compliance matters.

Jordan McErlean, Cayman, Litigation & Restructuring

Jordan’s practice covers all areas of international commercial litigation and arbitration related matters, including insolvency and restructuring, injunctions, shareholders’ disputes, and employment matters. Jordan has also prepared various expert evidence on Cayman Islands law for foreign courts. Jordan has been involved in a number of major Cayman Islands decisions on a variety of issues, both at first instance and appellate level. Jordan has appeared numerous times before various Courts and tribunals both as Leading Counsel and Junior Counsel. Since joining Conyers, he has undertaken secondments to the Bermuda and Hong Kong offices of Conyers, and Wilberforce Chambers in London.
