Conyers is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathon Milne as Partner in the Cayman Islands Litigation & Restructuring Practice. Jonathon has particular expertise in financial services litigation and corporate insolvency and brings a wealth of knowledge in those areas, which complements and enhances the firm’s current offering.

“We are delighted to expand our litigation practice with the addition of Jonathon,” said Paul Smith, Partner & Head of Cayman Islands Litigation & Restructuring. “We are confident that his significant litigation experience will help us further strengthen our position in the market.”

Jonathon’s experience includes acting for investment managers, directors, service providers, liquidators and receivers. He has played a significant role in some of the largest and most high profile Cayman litigation and insolvency matters in recent times. Prior to joining Conyers, Jonathon practised at top-tier law firms in New Zealand, Ireland, England and Cayman. He has also spent time on secondment to the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Most notably, he appeared in the six-week trial of commercial fraud proceedings involving the former CEO of a major Nigerian bank and in long-running multi-billion dollar litigation brought on behalf of victims of the Madoff fraud.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to join the partnership during such an exciting period of growth and success. I am looking forward to working with exceptional colleagues in Cayman and across the globe to further enhance the stellar reputation of the firm”, added Mr. Milne.
