Students from across the Cayman Islands gathered at Cayman International School for the 19th annual Conyers Inter-School Debate Tournament, the only event of its kind in the country. This year, 76 students from 9 schools participated, and were supported by 65+ judges as they debated the timely topic on the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI), culminating in a final resolution that the use of AI should be banned from student debates.

The tournament continues to thrive thanks to the dedication of volunteer judges from the legal and business communities, as well as teachers, coaches and the support of the judiciary, government and legislative leaders. “We are proud to sponsor the tournament bi-annually each year and to witness its continued growth and impact”, said Conyers Partner Cora Miller. “We are inspired by the poise, clarity and intellectual depth with which students approach some of today’s most complex and pressing issues”.

Students from Cayman International School, Cayman Prep & High School, John Gray High School, Hope Academy, Grace Christian Academy, Clifton Hunter High School, Layman E. Scott High School and Triple C School, all participated in this year’s debate.
