Piers Alexander
Partner, Global Head of Investment Funds
Piers Alexander is a Partner in the Corporate practice in Hong Kong and Global Head of Investment Funds at Conyers. He joined the firm in 2002, having previously practised in the investment funds group at Clifford Chance in both London and Hong Kong.
Piers advises on all aspects of corporate law, with particular expertise in investment funds, encompassing private equity, venture capital, real estate and hedge fund structures. He acts as offshore counsel to international and Asia-based fund managers on the establishment of investment fund vehicles, their ongoing operations and long-term strategic requirements.
Piers leads Conyers’ global funds practice, which is recognised for delivering technically rigorous advice and consistently high levels of client service. Over two decades he has developed a significant focus on the Japanese market and works closely with leading Japanese law firms to advise asset managers on complex and highly confidential mandates.
Piers is widely regarded for his technical strength, commercial acumen and client-focused approach, and has been recognised by leading legal directories for a number of consecutive years. In the Chambers Asia-Pacific 2025 edition, a client noted: “Piers Alexander tailors his advice based on the client’s business needs, combined with solid technical knowledge of Cayman law.” The 2023 edition described him as a trusted adviser who is considered a first choice for investment fund work.
