Conyers is pleased to announce the launch of its 2026 Bermuda Summer Law Student Programme, welcoming nine talented students to the firm for an immersive, practical legal experience. The programme forms part of the firm’s long-standing commitment in developing emerging legal talent, providing exposure to legal practice and the offshore legal industry.
This year’s cohort includes Ava Gibson, who will gain experience within the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice, Saria Robinson, who will work alongside our Private Client & Trust team, and Caitlin Bento, Cree Dunn, Isabelle Dutranoit, Charlie Lightowler, Lorenzo Durrant-Lucarini, Owen Neal and Tiara Simons, who will gain exposure to a broad range of matters within the Corporate practice.
Over the course of the eight-week programme, students will gain firsthand experience working alongside lawyers across Conyers. Through meaningful involvement in active matters, participants will develop practical skills in areas such as legal research, drafting, due diligence, case preparation and client service, while gaining valuable insight into the day-to-day realities of practising law in a leading international firm. Each student is also paired with mentors who provide guidance, support and regular feedback throughout the programme.
Beyond hands-on legal experience, the programme is designed to provide students with a broader understanding of the profession and the evolving career pathways available within Bermuda’s legal industry. Participants will take part in tailored development sessions focused on core legal knowledge, emerging legal AI technologies and professional skills, giving them insight into how innovation is shaping the future of legal practice while equipping them with the tools needed to succeed in a modern legal environment.
Marcello Ausenda, Director and Head of the Bermuda Corporate practice, commented, “At Conyers, we are committed to identifying, nurturing and supporting the next generation of Bermudian lawyers. Our Summer Law Student Programme is designed to give talented aspiring lawyers meaningful, practical experience in an environment that helps them make an informed decision about their future role in the profession. It is also a great networking opportunity as the students work alongside the world’s largest team of Bermuda lawyers. We are delighted to welcome our select group of summer students as we fully expect them to be future leaders of the profession.”
The Summer Law Student Programme is open to law students and recent legal graduates who demonstrate strong academic performance. Applications for the summer of 2027 will open on 1 January 2027 with a closing date of 31 March 2027.
