Conyers provided Bermuda law advice and assistance to Aircastle Limited in connection a new US$400 million unsecured term loan that it plans to use to finance aircraft acquisitions. The facility comprises a US$240 million loan from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation and an additional US$160 million financed by MUFG Bank and Mizuho Bank as syndicate arrangers, together with seven other lenders.
The loan has a five-year term. “This financing offers highly attractive terms despite volatile macroeconomic conditions and reflects the broader access to bank financing provided by our unique ownership structure with Marubeni Corporation and Mizuho Leasing Co., Ltd. Diversified access to capital supports efficient aircraft acquisitions as we expand our portfolio of in-demand aircraft,” said Aircastle CFO Roy Chandran.
As of 31 August 2026, Aircastle owned and managed 268 aircraft leased to 67 customers across 42 countries.
Director Jason Piney, Counsel Andrew Barnes and Associate Celine Collis of Conyers’ Bermuda office advised on the matter, working alongside Clifford Chance US LLP.
