Conyers is pleased to announce that James Tennison has joined the firm’s Hong Kong office as Counsel in its Dispute Resolution and Restructuring practice.

James specialises in cross-border disputes, international arbitration, and restructuring and insolvency matters, with particular experience in commercial, shareholder and corporate disputes, private wealth and trust litigation, fraud and asset tracing, enforcement proceedings, and digital asset disputes.

Prior to joining Conyers, James was Counsel in the International Litigation and Arbitration group at Skadden in Hong Kong, where he advised clients on commercial litigation, international arbitration and investigations, with a particular focus on offshore-related disputes.

The arrival of James further strengthens Conyers’ market-leading disputes and restructuring capabilities in Asia and enhances the firm’s ability to advise clients on increasingly complex cross-border matters involving offshore jurisdictions.

Christopher Bickley, Partner, Head of Asia, and Managing Partner of Conyers’ Hong Kong office, commented:
“We are delighted to welcome James to Conyers. His deep experience in dispute resolution and restructuring, together with his strong onshore expertise, further strengthens our offering in Asia. As clients continue to face increasingly complex cross-border disputes, James’ experience will be invaluable in supporting our clients throughout the region.”

Norman Hau, Conyers’ Dispute Resolution and Restructuring practice in Hong Kong, said
“James is a highly regarded disputes lawyer. His expertise complements our existing offering and further strengthens our ability to advise and represent clients in arbitrations. Having worked on some of the most significant onshore disputes in the region, James brings valuable insight and experience that will greatly benefit our clients and our team.”

James Tennison said:

I look forward to working with my new colleagues to continue delivering exceptional service to clients across the region.”

James advises a wide range of clients, including companies, trustees, investment funds, financial institutions, investors and high-net-worth individuals. He is recognised in the market for his work in international litigation and arbitration and has been consistently recognised by Legal 500 Asia Pacific for his disputes expertise. He was also named by the Legal 500 Asia Pacific in its inaugural Arbitration Powerlist for Hong Kong.
