Conyers acted as special Bermuda counsel to Greenshoots Re Ltd., a restricted special purpose insurer, on its collateralised reinsurance transaction with MS Transverse Insurance Company with respect to business produced by Bamboo Ide8 Insurance Services, LLC.
Conyers’ role included advising on Bermuda corporate and insurance regulatory matters, assisting with the preparation of documents and providing Bermuda law advice to the company up to closing.
With this transaction, the Greenshoots sidecar facility increases to US$175,000,000 across four carriers.
Director Alexandra Macdonald and Associate Nicole Yearwood of Conyers’ Bermuda office advised on the matter, working alongside Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP as legal advisers to the Issuer.
