Conyers acted as British Virgin Islands legal advisor to State Grid Overseas Investment (BVI) Limited (“SGOI”) in connection with the update of its US$15 billion medium term note programme, established in April 2017 and guaranteed by State Grid Corporation of China (“SGCC”).

The update included the issuance of CNY14 billion in Senior Guaranteed Notes across multiple tranches, with maturities in 2030, 2035 and 2045.

State Grid is one of the world’s largest utility companies, operating China’s national power grid and serving over 1.1 billion people across 88% of the country.
