Conyers acted as Cayman Islands counsel to the issue by Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (“SMIC”) of up to RMB1.5 billion 2020 second tranche super short term notes with a repayment term of no more than 111 days traded on the National Association of Financial Market Institutional Investors in PRC.

SMIC provides integrated circuit foundry and technology services worldwide including the testing, development and design, manufacturing, packaging and sale of integrated circuits. It is headquartered in Shanghai, China and is the country’s largest contract chip manufacturer as at March 2020.
