Conyers is pleased to confirm the promotion of two lawyers to Partner in its British Virgin Islands office.

Partner promotions include corporate and finance lawyer Rachael Pape and litigator Matthew Brown. “On behalf of my fellow Conyers partners and the entire firm, I congratulate Rachael and Matthew on their well-deserved appointments” said Conyers Chairman and Global Managing Partner Christian Luthi.

ABOUT THE NEW PARTNERS

Matthew Brown, Litigation & Restructuring

An Oxford University graduate, Matthew joined Conyers in 2017, having practised previously from a nationally-renowned set of chambers in London and Bristol as a commercial chancery barrister. Matthew has a broad practice covering all contentious aspects of commercial, trusts and insolvency law. He has been involved in some of the BVI’s leading cases, and has appeared in a number of cases in the Commercial Court and the Court of Appeal. He has been ranked in several legal directories (in both private client & trust and dispute resolution), and is recognised as a ‘Rising Star’.

Rachael Pape, Corporate

Rachael has a broad corporate and finance practice with particular expertise in corporate finance and reorganisations, capital markets, derivatives and securitisations, mergers and acquisitions and investment funds, along with providing cross-border regulatory guidance. She has most recently been recognised as a 2023 ‘Rising Star’ in both The Legal 500 and IFLR1000. Prior to moving to the British Virgin Islands and being admitted to the BVI bar in 2015, Rachael worked in the finance team of Slaughter and May and in the international capital markets (derivatives and structured finance) team of Allen & Overy LLP in London.
