Conyers Announces New Head of Cayman Corporate Practice

Conyers is pleased to announce the appointment of Partner, Matthew Stocker, as head of the Cayman Office’s corporate practice.

“It is a great privilege to take on this role at such a pivotal time for the Cayman Islands office. I look forward to leading our team of exemplary practitioners and colleagues and continuing to provide our clients and their businesses with the commercially sound and technically strong advice Conyers is known for. As clients adapt to challenges of COVID-19, our priority is assisting and keeping them up-to-date with the very latest international business support and proactively navigating challenges they are likely to encounter in the coming weeks and months,” said Mr. Stocker.

His appointment comes during a period of expansion for the office with strategic appointments across corporate and litigation practices. “I would like to congratulate Matthew on his promotion to head of the corporate practice. He has been an integral part of the office’s success over the past seven years. His appointment shows confidence in the office and jurisdiction and I look forward to seeing our corporate practice continue to grow under his leadership.” said Kevin Butler, head of the Cayman Islands office.

Matthew joined Conyers in 2013 and has over 20 years’ experience as a Cayman attorney-at-law and has significant knowledge of all areas of offshore transaction work. Matthew will lead a highly regarded and internationally ranked team with recognised expertise in a wide range of corporate and financial matters including M&A, investment funds, insurance, asset, structured and fund finance.
