This September, Conyers Hong Kong hosted a four-part Hybrid Webinar Series providing practical updates on legal and regulatory developments in Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands (BVI), and the Cayman Islands.

We were pleased to welcome over 400 attendees to the first two sessions, which covered timely and relevant topics for offshore companies listed in Hong Kong:

  • Session 1: Economic Substance Requirements in the Cayman Islands, Bermuda and BVI
This session provided a refresher on legislative frameworks and recent updates across the jurisdictions, with practical guidance on substance tests, reporting deadlines and enforcement risks.
  • Session 2: From Notice to Minutes – Essentials of Shareholder Meetings for Cayman & Bermuda Companies Listed in Hong Kong
Covering everything from convening meetings to drafting minutes, this session offered practical tips for handling adjournments, typhoons, hybrid formats and notice periods.

The sessions sparked engaging discussions among participants, who included CEOs, CFOs, general counsel, investment managers, onshore lawyers, accountants, and company secretaries from Hong Kong and across the region.

Upcoming sessions include:

  • Understanding Your Duties as a Director – The Key Points
    Thursday 23 October 2025
  • Trusts in Practice – Offshore Structuring and Disputes in BVI, Cayman & Bermuda
    Tuesday 28 October 2025

We look forward to welcoming attendees to these upcoming sessions, which will continue to explore key issues impacting offshore structures and corporate governance.

Thank you to all who have joined us and contributed to the success of the series so far.
