Conyers is pleased to announce that Sarah Farquhar has joined the Cayman corporate team. Sarah is a well-regarded regulatory and compliance attorney and has been hired to expand the firm’s capabilities in that area.

“We are delighted to welcome our new attorney Sarah Farquhar to Conyers,” said Matthew Stocker, Partner and Head of Conyers’ Cayman corporate practice. “As the global regulatory environment becomes more complex, the need for lawyers with sound experience in this area increases, and we are confident that Sarah’s considerable regulatory and compliance experience will be invaluable to our clients.”

As Conyers expands our regulatory services offering in all areas, Sarah will be an integral part of, among others, the office’s market-leading insurance and reinsurance practice. “Sarah’s expertise will be vital to our team and clients as the Cayman Islands insurance regulatory environment continues to evolve and as the insurance and reinsurance market locally continues to grow and attract ever more sophisticated players and complex structures,” said Partner and Head of Conyers’ Cayman insurance practice, Derek Stenson.

Prior to joining Conyers, Sarah worked as an Associate at Maples and Calder (Cayman), and as a Senior Executive at HSBC Bank plc, in addition to spending time as an Associate at leading onshore firms. She has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Otago in New Zealand and a PLC from the College of Law.

Sarah is currently ranked as a ‘Rising Star’ by Legal 500 (regulatory and compliance).
