Adly is a Legal Manager in the Singapore Litigation and Restructuring practice. He joined the firm in 2024.

Adly’s practice focuses on litigation and restructuring, drawing on his experience as a commercial disputes lawyer.

He has acted for clients from various industries such as technology, media, sports, energy & utilities as well as retail & consumer in matters ranging from contractual disputes, shareholder disputes as well as enforcement proceedings.

Adly’s experience also includes acting for banks and financial institutions in insolvency proceedings in Singapore.

Experience

Prior to joining Conyers, Adly has:

  • Successfully obtained the restoration of the subsidiary company of a fund in proceedings before the High Court in Singapore which became contentious after being opposed by a company (and its directors) that the subsidiary company was a shareholder of.
  • Assisted a local trading house in successfully getting dismissed, before the Court of Appeal in Singapore, the appeal of a debtor, whose alleged debts were in excess of S$300 million, to overturn the High Court’s decision to revoke the approval for his Individual Voluntary Arrangement.
  • Assisted a food court operator which is part of a formerly-listed company in successfully striking out a suit commenced by a former stall operator claiming for the sum of almost $1 million.
  • Successfully assisted a client in obtaining a winding up order at a special half-day hearing before the High Court in Singapore in proceedings that were disputed on the basis that the company was not insolvent and purportedly had funds that were just not readily accessible.
  • Represented a video game developer in the eSports industry in a dispute against an eSports broadcaster which involved complex cross-claims arising out of a licensing deal.
