Conyers’ Bermuda legal practices receive top rankings across the board in Chambers Global Guide 2024.

Conyers’ key Bermuda legal practices have again been recognised as market-leading in Bermuda by law firm directory Chambers and Partners in its newly released Global Guide 2024, having once again secured Band 1 rankings across three key practice areas: Corporate & Finance, Insurance, and Dispute Resolution.

More Conyers lawyers have been ranked and featured in the 2024 rankings than any other Bermuda law firm. Director and Chairman Christian Luthi and Head of Bermuda Corporate Marcello Ausenda have been elevated to the rank of Eminent Practitioner, and are respectively the only Dispute Resolution and Corporate & Finance practitioners in the jurisdiction to receive Chambers’ most prestigious accolade. Additionally, a record twelve Conyers Bermuda lawyers have been acknowledged by Chambers, including Jennifer Panchaud who is a new entrant in the ‘Up and Coming’ category.

Chambers distinguishes the Bermuda Corporate Practice as having a “prestigious, market-leading presence in Bermuda’s corporate and finance arena.” The firm is noted as being consistently active on many high-profile transactions, and our team is recognised for its breadth of experience. Chambers puts great emphasis on client testimonials in its assessments. In the words of one client commenting on the Conyers’ corporate practice “Conyers is exactly what you want from local counsel; they are well informed and responsive. They are well respected on the island.”

Marcello Ausenda, Director and Head of the Bermuda Corporate Practice, stated: “This is a significant achievement both for our lawyers who have been deservedly recognised and for our market leading corporate practice. Chambers comprehensive review of the Bermuda legal market has confirmed what we and, more importantly, our clients, have known for some time: our line-up of corporate lawyers in terms of individual and bench strength is second to none in Bermuda. We are justifiably proud of our collective achievement that has been recognised again, and to a greater extent than ever before with no fewer than eight Conyers corporate lawyers – including three lawyers in our market-dominating Insurance practice featuring in this year’s rankings. This recognition is consistent with and reinforces Conyers’ position as Bermuda’s leading law firm.”

Conyers’ Dispute Resolution practice was applauded for having “one of the strongest litigation practices in Bermuda [which] maintains an excellent reputation for trust disputes and is also regularly mandated on cutting-edge commercial litigation and insolvency cases.” Clients say the practice is “the front runner in Bermuda” and “an excellent team with a good cross-section of skills and experience.”

Conyers Chairman Christian Luthi who also leads the Bermuda Dispute Resolution practice commented, “Chambers’ continued recognition of our leadership in Bermuda disputes practice is gratifying. It reinforces our belief that we have the strongest, most experienced and talented disputes practice in Bermuda.”

Bermuda’s Private Client & Trust practice is also ranked Band 1 in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide.

Chambers and Partners is widely regarded as the world’s leading legal rankings and insights intelligence company. Its independent research and assessment processes ensure that the most exceptional firms and legal practitioners are recognised for their excellence and expertise.

The recognition by Chambers Global Guide of Conyers leading position in the Bermuda market further solidifies Conyers’ position as a trusted advisor and partner to clients in need of Bermuda law expertise.
