Eunice Leung is a Legal Manager in the Hong Kong Dispute Resolution practice. She joined Conyers in 2024.

Prior to joining Conyers, Eunice has advised and acted for Hong Kong listed companies, bondholder committees, investment firms, insolvency practitioners and financial institutions on the appointments of liquidators, restructuring of companies by way of schemes of arrangements in the BVI and the Cayman Islands, issues relating to directors’ duties and unfair prejudice and capital reduction in the Cayman Islands.

Eunice has advised companies from various industry areas including real estate, financial services, technology, consumer retail and energy.

Eunice is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English.

Experience

Prior to joining Conyers, Eunice has:

  • Provided Cayman and BVI legal advice for an ad hoc group of offshore bondholders of China Evergrande Group in relation to the restructuring of USD19 billion of offshore liabilities.
  • Advised and acted for an ad hoc group of offshore bondholders of Risesun Real Estate Development Company Limited on the successful restructuring of the company’s US$780 million of offshore notes by way of a scheme of arrangement in the BVI.
  • Advised and acted for a Hong Kong listed company in relation to its capital reduction in the Cayman Islands.
  • Advised and acted for a Chinese real estate company in relation to opposing a winding up petition.
  • Assisted with obtaining a Mareva injunction in Hong Kong courts for an investment fund in relation to a fraud matter.
  • Advised and assisted with bondholder communications as special noteholder liaison counsel to voluntary administrators of Virgin Australia Holdings Limited.
  • Advised and acted for the ad hoc committee of noteholders of US$420 million Senior Notes issued by China Singyes Solar Technologies Holdings Limited, a Hong Kong listed renewable energy company through parallel schemes of arrangement in Hong Kong and Bermuda.
  • Advised and acted for a U.S. retailer and its Asian subsidiaries in relation to the operational restructuring of its Asian operations.
