As previously reported, Conyers acted for Sky Solar Holdings Ltd (“Sky Solar”) on its privatisation and subsequent de-listing from NASDAQ in October 2020.

Sky Solar is a global independent power producer that develops, owns and operates solar parks around the world. In connection with Sky Solar’s recent de-listing, the Conyers team also successfully: (i) discharged an ex parte freezing injunction and removed receivers at the first inter-partes return date; and (ii) struck out a creditor’s winding up petition on the basis that the petition debt was subject to a genuine dispute. The parties to those proceedings have reached a confidential settlement and, as a result, an extant appeal of the order striking-out the petition has been withdrawn.

The Conyers team was led by David Lamb in Hong Kong. Jonathon Milne and Spencer Vickers appeared as advocates in each of the Cayman Islands proceedings.
